There's no secret trick here, it's mobile ordering and it's available right on your My Disney Experience app. It's so easy and I'm hooked! I've been seeing more quick service dining locations added to the "Order Food" feature on the app and thought I should go to Animal Kingdom for lunch today and give it a try. There are 4 locations that feature mobile ordering: Flame Tree Barbecue, Pizzafari, Restaurantosaurus, and Satu'li Canteen in Pandora. I chose Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand since I already know there is a lot of indoor seating there and I needed the air conditioning! I used the app to order my lunch and was able to walk right in passing everyone waiting in line, and was handed my food with a "thank you for using the app!" from about 3 different cast members. They told me that not many people use this service yet. I'm shocked because this is one of the easiest ways to avoid a line in Disney World! Here is how to do it...
Haven't made it to the Flower and Garden Festival yet? There's still time! The festival is running now through May 29th and it's been quite the event! This year we've seen one-of-a-kind Disney topiaries, Garden Rocks Concerts, children's activities, outdoor kitchens and food...lot's and lot's of delicious food! In fact, I found there to be many more culinary treasures at this festival than in years past. It took me several days to try about 35 amazing dishes and drinks at the different kitchens around World Showcase and I definitely found some new favorites. I also enjoyed how this festival brings many culinary variations averaging about $6 each. Take a look at my top 10 and let me know if you've been able to experience any of these tasty dishes for yourself!
#10 Beef Brisket Burnt Ends Hash with White Cheddar Fondue and Pickled Jalapenos
I love meat and potatoes and I love melted cheese and nothing brought it all together better than the nice heat of the jalapenos. Try this dish for $6.25 at the Smokehouse located next to the American Adventure. Although the Pulled Pig Slider (pictured) was good, it did not quite make the top 10.
My lunch at Frontra Cocina was magnifico! Chef Rick Bayless sure knows how to put together a menu that makes you say "I need another minute please"! There are so many items that sound so delicious and you're concentrating so hard on your choices that you almost forget about the extraordinary surroundings you walked into at this Disney Springs eatery.
There's so much going on here and it's all so wonderful! This place has it all, I'm talkin' food, amazing service, live music, shopping, Amphicar's, Italian water taxi cruises and, and, and... It seems the list doesn't end and that is why The BOATHOUSE has earned a spot on my top 10 restaurants in Walt Disney World!
As Downtown Disney morphed into Disney Springs, a whole slew of new and amazing shops and restaurants sprung up (no pun intended) that contribute to the new feel of this popular destination. No extra ticket is needed to visit Disney Springs and your trip would not be complete without a stop to savor the flavors and entertainment that make this place unforgettable. And while you're in Disney Springs, a meal at the BOATHOUSE will be a welcome delight! I had lunch there a couple of days ago and I can't wait to go back!
A unique activity during the 2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is the beverage seminars that are held in the Festival Center located next to Ellen's Energy Adventure in Future World. Offered 3 times a day on most days, these seminars feature wine, beer or whisky and there is still plenty of time to reserve your seat before the festival concludes on November 14th. Check the beverage seminar event calendar to see a list of upcoming seminars, your favorite beverage may be showcased! Seminars are $15 and last approximately 45 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at this event. It was fun, informative and I was able to escape the heat and try some delicious wines!
Today I had lunch at San Angel Inn in the Mexico pavilion. You know, the one with the big pyramid you see out of the corner of your eye while running to Norway for the Frozen ride! San Angel Inn is one of two table service restaurants in Mexico and it’s probably going to be your first pick because it looks awesome and smells amazing. I like to make reservations for before noon or mid-afternoon when there's less crowds and you get seated quickly. Sometimes that works out!
"I have lived everything Disney for the last five years and am always on the lookout for tips and tricks and ways to do Disney better! My weakness is the food but really, if you can be doing anything at Disney, it’s a good day! I spend more time in the parks than I do at my own place. Feel free to tell me what you want to see and do and I’ll try my best to bring you there virtually!" ~ Amanda Davidowitz
Chris and his wife are teachers and Annual Passholders in the Houston, Texas area. He is the proud father of 2 children (ages 4 and 1) and is thrilled to pass on his love of all things Disney to them. He enjoys scouting for the best deals and traveling to Walt Disney World whether it's crowded or not!
