Review: Chocolate Kingdom Factory Adventure Tour

10/30/2014

Location: 2858 Florida Plaza Boulevard, Kissimmee, FL 34746
Close to Disney World off of Highway 192

A tour that offers product samples is great but a chocolate tour with samples and being able to create your own candy bar.....awesome! This type of adventure is great for a group looking for an activity that will entertain everyone.... This is why we decided to go to the Chocolate Kingdom with our family who came in from Denver.
The tours are available each hour and last about 45 minutes. Led on a chocolate adventure by a charming prince and his dragon buddy, you have the opportunity to learn how this delicious treat is made and the history behind the cocoa bean. No, its not a real prince and his dragon, that is just the story line as you guided by a knowledgeable chocolate aficionado.

The tour was interesting and everyone felt they learned something new. The group also enjoyed sampling milk, dark and white chocolate along the way. Most of the group decided to make their own chocolate bar. You don't actually get to make it, you get to determine the type of chocolate and type of fruit, nuts and candy you would like in it. Then, watch as the chocolatier creates your bar! The cost is only $5 which we all felt was reasonable because the chocolate is very tasty here and the bars had some good weight to them.

Before and after the tour, guests are able to make purchases at the gift store. There are packaged items like chocolate wine, chocolate bars, sugar free chocolates, etc. There is also a display case with a large assortment of treats. My son opted for the chocolate syringe and some fresh hot cocoa. Yes, I typed that right! A large syringe with fresh melted chocolate inside! We have actually been back to the Chocolate Kingdom to purchase more chocolate and another chocolate syringe.

This tour is great for most ages. They offer folding chairs if you feel that you may need to sit down once in a while during the tour. If you have small children, please note that some parts of the tour can be a bit slow and learning about the history of chocolate may not be as fun as tasting it. The tour does follow along the animated story and that can help with an antsy child.

Be sure to check their website www.chocolatekingdom.com for information on events and party packages. The wine and chocolate pairing experience sounds fabulous!

Factory Tour Pricing:
Adults $16.95

"My goal is to eat at every table service and counter service restaurant, visit every  lounge, stay at every on-site resort, ride every ride and shop all of the gift and specialty stores in Disney and then report it all back to you. I have almost met that goal already but would love for you to continue on this adventure with me! ~ Kim Gonzales

"I have lived everything Disney for the last five years and am always on the lookout for tips and tricks and ways to do Disney better! My weakness is the food but really, if you can be doing anything at Disney, it’s a good day! I spend more time in the parks than I do at my own place. Feel free to tell me what you want to see and do and I’ll try my best to bring you there virtually!" ~ Amanda Davidowitz
