A stroller is an essential item for touring theme parks in Orlando with your little ones. The average guest will walk at least 3 miles while touring a theme park in a day. This is not easy on little feet and way too hard on your shoulders once you have to start giving piggy back rides! Many people will rent a stroller instead of bringing their own solely out of convenience. It’s difficult to travel with strollers in airports and even more difficult while traveling in vehicles going to and from the airport when you already have luggage to deal with. Renting saves time and frustration!
Stroller rentals are available at all Orlando theme parks and while it may seem like a good idea to rent at the park, there are a lot of cons to consider. Theme parks offer both double and single strollers but they are expensive, made of hard plastic, do not recline, and sometimes you may have to wait in lines to pick one up or drop one off at the end of the day. After a long day of playing at Disney or Universal, the last thing you want to do is carry children from the bus, boat, or monorail back to your room. If you are concerned about getting one of our rentals on and off transportation, worry no more. It is very easy to push our smooth gliding strollers right onto a boat, ferry or monorail and with the quick folding features, you can easily fold a stroller with one hand when getting on the bus! If you rent a stroller from Orlando for Families, you will have it for the duration of your trip!
Types of Strollers for Rent
There’s no one size fits all in the stroller world and you want to make sure your child fits properly and is comfortable. Orlando for Families carries the popular City Mini and Joovy Caboose brands to provide you with a good choice to meet the needs of your family. You can see a complete list of the features of each stroller on our rentals page but here is a quick rundown of the most asked about features to help you decide which model you would need.
City Mini Single Stroller – This is a light and easy to fold stroller that suits small children wonderfully with seats that recline and a nice sized storage area underneath.
***This stroller is for children up to 50 pounds and up to 44” tall.
City Mini Double Stroller – This stroller glides easily and fits through doorways without any problem. Each seat relines individually as does the large sun canopies.
***This stroller is for children up to 50 pounds on each seat for a total weight of 100 pounds and under 44” tall.
City Mini GT Stroller – The GT single stroller offer a few more features such as better tires and a little bit more head room. These models cost more but are necessary if your child is older or weighs more than the regular City Mini maximum weight of 50 pounds.
***This stroller is for children up to 65 pounds and under 48” tall.
City Mini GT Double Stroller – The GT double model also has better tires and more head room but the weight restrictions are the same as the regular model. If your child is taller this would be a great choice. This is a heavier stroller to lift and carry so if your child is under 44” and 65 pounds, it is more cost effective and more convenient to go with the regular model.
***This stroller is for children up to 50 pounds on each seat for a total weight of 100 pounds and under 48” tall.
Joovy Caboose Sit and Stand Stroller – Rapidly becoming one of our most requested strollers, this model allows for small children to sit up front and for order children to have a choice of sitting or standing to the rear of the stroller. This is an opportunity to have the convenience of a double stroller but more compact and easier to maneuver.
***This stroller is for children up to 45 pounds in the front and 45 pounds on the back seat/ standing area. The minimum age for a child in the front seat is 3 months and the minimum age for the back seat is 2 ½ years.
While we can’t speak for other companies we pride ourselves on offering strollers and baby gear that is cleaned to the highest of standards. We thoroughly clean every part of the stroller and anything that is removable, we wash it in without the use of harsh chemicals. Each stroller goes through a 14-point inspection TWICE prior to being delivered to ensure safety, cleanliness and overall quality. No one wants a stroller that hasn’t been cleaned properly or that has non-functioning parts. If there is even the slightest problem with a stroller, it does NOT get rented!
How Much Stroller Rentals Cost?
We are happy to offer some of the best stroller rental prices in town! We are typically 15-20% less expensive and offer VIP services (see below) to those staying at Disney and Universal onsite hotels. Delivery is free to all major tourist areas in Orlando. Please visit our rentals page for exact pricing for your length of stay and stroller choice.
What is FREE VIP Drop-Off and Pick-Up Service to Universal and Disney Resorts?
Even though we deliver to many locations in Orlando, most of our stroller deliveries are to the resorts of Disney World and Universal Studios. There are a few companies that are labeled as Disney ‘preferred” companies but Orlando for Families started delivering strollers after that was introduced. Preferred means that a company can drop off strollers to baggage services and the stroller is there waiting for you to come claim it when you arrive. Since we are not able to use the baggage services area for storing strollers we decided to create a VIP service to make renting from Orlando for Families even more convenient than ever! If you’re staying at a Disney or Universal resort, a driver will be waiting for you when you get off of the Magical Express (or any other transportation you’re using on arrival) and will hand your stroller to you. While others are heading to the bell services or the baggage services desk to look for their stroller, you’ve started your vacation! You already use self check-in to avoid possible lines and inconvenience, might as well go VIP all the way!
Changing resorts mid-trip? No problem. Not returning to your resort and need theme park stroller pick up? No problem.
How About Accessories?
All Orlando for Families strollers come with a parent console to store items and to have a spot for your beverages. Rain covers, snack trays (for single strollers), and extra parent consoles for double strollers may be requested. We do not charge for these items! Keep in mind that some of these extra items may be difficult to store when not in use.
What About Insurance?
To buy or not to buy, that is always the question, right? Just like anything else you purchase insurance for, if you need it, you’re really glad you have it! Stroller replacement costs can be super expensive with some models being over $500. Insurance is only $20 or $25 (depending on the type of stroller you choose) and could save you from these replacement costs if the stroller is lost, stolen or damaged*. Stroller insurance provides peace of mind that if something happens, you're covered! Please see our terms and conditions for specifics on coverage.
